The SIPs package allows you to build the enclosure of your THOW on the trailer in a couple of days.
SIPs Package includes:
- 4” thick SIPs – 4’ in length
- Window and door cut-outs
- Corner lumber installed
- Bevel cut lumber for wall or roof rakes
Assembly accessory package includes:
- Bolts and straps
- Mastic
- Spray foam and house wrap
- Roof underlayment
- Loose lumber
Advantages of building a THOW with SIPs over traditional stick built construction:
- Saves time, money and labor
- The enclosure build takes a couple of days
- Provides a solid wall for minimal thermal bridging
- Creates a relatively air tight structure that can be ventilated efficiently
The SIPs package is an exterior “enclosure only” kit. Not included:

- Toilet or bathroom accessories
- Windows or doors
The SIPs package does not include plumbing, electrical or mechanical systems. The hour of free consultation with Artisan can be used to locate these systems in your home.
ASSEMBLY
Artisan Tiny House works with you through the design process, assists in obtaining a building permit (if required), provides the SIP-enclosure package and, in most cases, shows you or your contractor how to put it together.
Assembly time depends on various factors but generally the structure can go up in a weekend.
FOUNDATION
This SIPs tiny house package is built on the included trailer but SIPs packages without a trailer are available. Give us a call at
SHIPPING
The SIPs enclosure package is shipped flat packed. (Shipping is not included in the price.)
- SIPs: 4” panel of insulating foam core sandwich between oriented strand board (OSB)
- R-values: R-16 for walls, roof and floor (6” R-24 Roof available)
Benefits of building with SIPs vs traditional “stick construction”:
- SIPs can easily provide more insulation than standard building codes require
- SIPs result in a relatively airtight building that is less drafty and more comfortable
- SIPs provide a solid wall for minimal thermal bridging
- SIPs allow you to build it tight, but ventilate it efficiently
- SIPs let you hang your pictures wherever you want as there’s no need to find a stud!
